Carnival of Investing

With some new hosts coming up, it’s about time I put up some hosting guidelines for the Carnival of Investing.

1. First please read about the Carnival in general.

2. I will give access to the submissions e-mail where you receive all the submissions unedited, and you as host and editor have complete control over what you decide to actually include within the carnival. You can even simply include posts that you’ve stumbled upon from other blogs. Use your best judgment, and don’t feel bad about not including articles that are spammy or unuseful.

3. To show that you’ve actually looked through the submissions, please feel free to order the submissions as you like. Choosing a few ‘Editor’s Picks’ is a great idea.

4. When you’re done hosting, send a heads up to the Carnival at admin at carnivalofinvesting. net so we can post up an announcement.

5. At the end or beginning, please link to the Carnival of Investing homepage for information and future hosts.

6. The Carnival should be posted Monday Morning. I’m not too strict on this, but you’ll get the best traffic results if you post it early.

7. To help encourage people to link to your Carnival you should consider emailing each submitter who you include and let them know you have pick their posts. That makes people happy!

The 39th Edition is up at Grow Your Funds. Many thanks to Larry for hosting with the theme of Alternative Investments.

Some changes are on the way to some of the hosting guidelines, but they will be more evolutionary than revolutionary.

I would like to line up some hosts all the way into December, if possible. Hosting a Carnival is a lot of work to be sure, but there are many positives to it as well. Your efforts are appreciated by the community, and the accompanying traffic and publicity can really boost your blog’s awareness!
